Lamborghini Aventador Roadster

Lamborghini has released full details about it’s long awaited Aventador Roadster. Following last week’s tease, the Italian company has finally unveiled what they say to be “the most exciting roadster ever”.
Known to be Murcielago’s successor, the Aventador Roadster does not share the same fabric roof that limited the old Lambo to a top speed of 160 km/h (100 mph). The hard top that has been fitted on the Aventador can be removed by hand in “a few seconds” and weighs just 6 kg (13 lbs). Also, the carbon fiber roof uses the firm’s Forged Composite technology, which basically makes the material stronger than titanium but less dense.
Under the bonnet, the Aventador Roadster uses the same 6.5-liter normally-aspirated V12, that features a stop/start system, cylinder deactivation technology, and comes mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission. With the roof up, the awesome new Lambo needs three seconds to sprint from 0 to 100km/h (0-62 mph) on its way to a top speed of 349 km/h (217 mph).
The vehicle’s rear pillars had to be redesigned in order to provide additional strength when driving with the roof down. This new feature also provides extra ventilation to the engine while offering extra rollover protection. The vehicle has also been fitted with a powered rear windscreen that can control airflow over the vehicle, as well as the level of noise coming from the engine when driving with the roof down. Furthermore, on top of the front windscreen, a wind deflector has been installed in order to “deliver almost complete calm” in the cabin when the roof is removed.
Aditional styling cues like the engine cover that now features two lines of hexagonal windows, the scissor doors that have a chamfered edge for the frameless windows and the 20- to 21-inch (front/rear) alloys that lower the vehicle’s weight by 10 kg (22 pounds) are just some of the things that make the Aventador Roadster such an awesome ride.
The 2013 Lamborghini Aventador Roadster will hit the dealershops next summer and it will have a base price of 300,000 EUR before taxes.
