Mercedes-Benz CLS 63

After announcing the brand new E 63 AMG for the Detroit Motor Show, Mercedes-Benz has also revealed some details about the 2014 CLS 63 AMG and Shooting Brake which will also make their debut next week.
What’s so special about the new CLS is that it packs an improved V8 5.5-liter bi-turbo that is now capable of producing 557 HP – 410 kW at 5,500 rpm and 720 Nm of torque. Further, the four-door coupe sprints from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.2 seconds while the heavier Shooting Brake needs an extra 0.1 seconds.
The updated CLS lineup will also be available with the new 4MATIC system which lifts the output to 585 HP 430 kW at 5,500 rpm and 800 Nm between 1,750 and 5,000 rpm. The 4MATIC S-Model, as it is also known, sprints to 100km/h (62 mph) in 3.6 seconds and 3.7 seconds for the Shooting Brake version. If you’re wondering, all models have an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission is offered with four modes: Controlled Efficiency (C), Sport (S), Sport Plus (S+) and Manual (M). The S-Model is fitted with a rear-axle differential lock and comes with red painted calipers, while on the inside there’s a black Nappa leather steering wheel, a revised AMG instrument cluster and grey contrasting stitching.
The rear-wheel drive model is expected to reach the dealer shops in April, while the all-wheel drive version and the S-Model will do so in June.
