Mercedes CLA
Mercedes-Benz is really exploiting this 4-door Coupe frenzy they’ve started. With the new-gen CLS being launched a while back and the brand-new CLS Shooting Break steaming hot right out of the oven, the German automaker is really setting itself apart from the competition. However, not everyone can afford a $100k Merc, so the guys back at Mercedes Benz wanted something more cost-effective. THat’s why they’ve come-up with a smaller, fresh model called the CLA. The vehicle is a four-door coupe similar to the CLS designed with American buyers in mind.
Finally, after a (way too) long series of speculations, Mercedes has released a few official pictures of the upcoming svelte vehicle. The CLA boasts a similar, if not exact, design to the recently previewed showcar. CarBuzz gave it a nice description to which we subscribe, “The lines look like they’ve been drawn in liquid metal before it’s seized into shape over the chassis”.
Unfortunately, the German carmaker hasn’t released any details along with these images but from what we can see from these images, Mercedes also incorporated that nifty perforated grille first seen on the A-class. Also, a few customization options for the interior are also noticeable.
As we’ve previously reported, the CLA will have a range of engines connected to a new 4Matic all-wheel drive system Mercedes has developed for this platform. Notably, there will also be a range-topping CLA45 AMG model.
